The groom and his men accented their stylish navy suits with green striped socks + bow ties to add a little personality and fun to their oh so classy ensembles!

Gillian’s gauzy gown with high scooping neckline was absolutely stunning.  Just like the rest of the day’s details, it was stylish and effortless at the same time!

The main reception tent was kept clean and simple to let the garden and grounds shine above all else.  Instead of 1 style of centerpiece, Gillian and Tom wanted to shake things up a bit and decided on alternating classic floral arrangements with Charleston style lanterns and small floral accents, all keeping with the natural color palette.

Displayed on a beautiful Navy Pintuck linen to really make a statement, rather than the traditional tiered wedding cake, a mouth-watering array of delicious cupcakes were offered for the guests to enjoy. Key Lime Curd Filled, Red Velvet, and of course the old faithful: Vanilla with Chocolate.  One of each for us please!

Sharing their first dance, which was reminiscent of Fred and Ginger (they are such a charismatic couple!), and then stealing a kiss over dinner.  The entire evening was a celebration of Gillian and Tom’s love for one another.  (And their shared love of fashion!)  After all, that’s what it’s all about… Love…

 First and foremost, save-the-dates, wedding programs, guest book, and signage can add up fast in any budget when having them custom designed.  The good news is we’ve  done the investigative work to find the best alternatives, and we want to share some awesome DIY sites that provide easy templates for just about any of your creative wedding needs! Beyond the paper products, there is the additional decor that you can add to create your unique ceremony and/or reception. A lot of vintage and rustic elements are on top of the trends list right now, which is perfect because these items utilize a lot of natural elements, which in turn can lower the cost. Here are some unique DIY project ideas we adore…

And don’t stop at table numbers, this tutorial can be used in an array of ways.  Rather than the numbers, you can write on the glass with permanent marker or use smaller letter stickers.  Perfect for signs for the gift table, card container, or any signage letting your guests know what to do or see or take with them when they leave your fabulous soiree!  You can find cheap frames to order in bulk online at amazon.com or etsy.com. If you’re like us and you like to touch and see everything before putting down the card, head to any craft store as they should have a good selection as well (watch for the coupons ) You can switch the burlap for scrapbooking paper in fun prints with your color palette and also spray paint your frames in an array of colors. We’ve even seen chalkboard paint on the glass so that the frames became tiny chalkboards, so cute.  Time to get creative ladies!!!

We are also obsessed with these natural wood serving stands and custom cake stands…You could use these for a traditional tiered cake, for petite desserts, or even favors.  You can usually find these wood pieces at craft stores.  You’ll want to make sure they’re food safe, or plan for some pretty parchment paper or vintage inspired doilies.  Find great items for the custom cake stands at your local consignment store or antique mall, and after a quick trip to Lowe’s, you’ll be set to create!

Posting signs using wood plaques or chalk boards are also a cheap and fun way to guide your guests and personalize your day. These are both easy finds as well; It’s amazing what Micheal’s can do for your life when it comes to planning an event!

And last but not least: barrels! They can be used to set up a gift table or in a lounge area, for a bar or a beverage station, or for your beautiful dessert display!  Can you tell we are loving the rustic chic look? Trendy and affordable is what we are all about

2013 is officially here and before you know it, wedding season will once again be in full swing! We’ve been seeing more and more baby’s breath as we help our brides create their floral designs, especially than we’ve seen in the last 10 years. Watch out ladies and gentlemen, baby’s breath is back (but this is certainly not your Momma’s idea of baby’s breath)!

This season were seeing baby’s breath take the center stage! The last time baby’s breath was a big deal, it was seen primarily as a filler to add some spunk to a floral arrangement on half the budget. But this time around we are seeing baby’s breath as the main focus with other accents being interspersed to set it off as the highlight instead of the other way around!

And being used in numerous fun and interesting ways!

If you are not hooked on the return of baby’s breath yet, maybe this will help… For one, baby’s breath is easy to get ones’ hands on any time of year, making it the perfect flower choice for a wedding no matter the season – be it your shabby chic barn wedding or your most extravagant elegant winter engagement. Baby’s breath is a perfect choice all year round. Not only that, but it’s also incredibly affordable, so you will get optimum “bang for your buck”.

Asheville, North Carolina

For those honeymooners who are looking for a perfect destination to enjoy autumn’s beauty, Asheville could be the choice for you. From the breathtaking colors of the falling leaves to the crisp weather and brilliant blue ridge mountain views, Asheville is the perfect destination for the perfect autumn escape. If one is driving from Charleston, it is about 4 hours by car but there is a local airport nearby. When deciding where to stay, two recommendations I have would be the famous Biltmore house and the Grove Park Inn.

Where I would stay? — The Inn on Biltmore

Savannah, Ga

Just two hours from Charleston, Savannah is conveniently located on the coast. The city itself is known for its historical ambiance, oak trees dripping with spanish moss, and breathtaking architecture. You and your significant other can walk along the cobblestone river street or tour a haunted graveyard to just add to your perfect getaway. Even if you are not attracted to the city life, there are many popular beach destinations nearby as well.

Napa Valley

Known for being an ideal place for the wine connoisseur, Napa has become a popular destination for honeymooners.From the cute boutique hotels to the intimate inns, any couple can find something to be attracted to in Napa.

Cancun

If you are looking to venture somewhere tropical, luxurious, and relaxing but want to not break the bank, Cancun could be the perfect destination for your romantic getaway. From the multitude of all inclusive resorts to the many historical sites of ancient Maya, there is something to chose from for every couple.

Where I would stay– Le Blanc Spa Resort

As sentimental gesture by the Mother of the Groom, the couple’s stationary was designed specially for them.

The bride’s all white delicate bouquet by Whitney at  Branch Design Studio was constructed with hydrangeas, ranunculus, and dahlias. She was able to incorporate the wedding colors into the bridesmaids bouquets by adding fuchsia peonies and yellow ranunculuses.

Breeze of course added our special touch with simple decor pieces to complete the finished presentation.

Iron Gate Events catered a variety of stations for the guests to choose from that even included Charleston’s famous Shrimp and Grits!

Icebox Bar created the delicious signature cocktail to Holly’s preference.

The couple exited to sparklers and cheering from their guests. The transition from beginning to end could not have turned out more flawless with the help an excellent team and the adorable, smitten newly weds

As your guests enter the reception, they can easily find their seat by locating their escort card.  Here are a few great ways to display those cards with Fall decor.

Next, your guests will head to their respected tables and they can find those tables with the help of these crafty Fall table numbers.

Once your guests have taken their seats, they  will start to enjoy dinner and after dinner sweets!  They will start with Pumpkin Soup Shooters

And end with a Fall themed wedding cake!

Once all of the dancing has concluded, your guests can grab their tasty apple favor and follow the lighted path back to their cars.
