Candice Hilse FounderCandice Hilse is the force behind Breeze—and a woman who loves what she does! Originally working as a human resources specialist and an event planning leader at one of the largest retailers in the country, she was charged with planning store openings nationwide. During that time, she refined her event planning abilities and mastered the art of infusing every event with its own character.

Candice came to realize that event design was her passion—not sitting behind a desk—and decided to focus on it full-time by founding Yoj Events in 2008. Her creativity and long-standing vendor relationships enabled her to build Breeze. With a goal of providing “the elegant Charleston wedding that you never thought you could afford,” this is a wedding concept unlike any other.

The response has been fabulous; the positive post-event feedback has been overwhelming. The secret to that success: Candice charges each of her talented and experienced wedding planners to share her commitment to drawing inspiration and a fresh perspective from each Breeze bride. Her passion hasn’t wavered since she left the corporate world behind, but rather, it has intensified. And that translates to an elegant, fun and incredibly affordable wedding for those who looked to make their special day a Breeze.

Emily Weidle Wedding PlannerEmily was born and raised in Franklin, Pennsylvania (yes, she’s a Yankee!), where the Culinary Arts took center stage in her interests early on. This led her to Johnson and Wales University and the magical city of Charleston. While obtaining her degree, an externship at Charleston Place spurred her love of events, and she hasn't looked back. She has since worked in numerous aspects of the field, most recently serving 7 years as the Catering and Events Manager for Good Food Catering and The Historic Rice Mill Building.

It was there that she honed her event skills and fell in love with organizational supplies, shrimp and grits, and especially, the joy of a memorable wedding day. She had successfully executed close to 1,000 unique events there when she decided she’d like to be more involved in each wedding with which she had the honor to assist. Joining the Breeze team was the perfect choice, and she has been thrilled to plan with couples from all over the country to learn their stories and create their day with them. Her top priority is anticipating the needs of not only the bride and groom, but also the family, to ensure that the entire day surpasses their highest expectations.

Katherine Miller Wedding PlannerKatherine is the type of event planner that every bride hopes for: savvy, super-organized, on time, easy to get in touch with, gracious and positive. She specializes in full service wedding design, and her pep talks usher you through the planning process from “yes” until “I do.”

A lowcountry native, Katherine lives in the same Mount Pleasant neighborhood that she grew up in! Her background in public relations and graphic design led her to the special event industry. Before joining Breeze, she ran her own event planning business, KATHERINE MILLER events, for five years. You’ll find Katherine-styled celebrations in publications like Charleston Weddings and Weddings Unveiled as well as on blogs like Style Me Pretty, Southern Weddings and The Wedding Row.
